Approach

Presence, safety, and choice

I don’t believe healing is something we do to the body. I believe it’s something we invite.

The conditions

What I bring to every session

  1. Presence

I keep my practice small, and sessions aren’t stacked back to back. The time is yours.

  2. Safety

We start with your intention for the session and anything painful I should know about. Then we go at your pace.

  3. Choice

I work intuitively. I’ll ask before sharing anything that comes through, and you’re free to take what’s useful and leave the rest.

Free will is one of my core values, not only in my personal life, but in my work.

Safety

Safety is the technique

The body only lets go of something when it feels safe enough to. So how I pace a session, how I touch, and how I talk with you matter as much as anything my hands do.

People who go slowly at the beginning tend to go further. When someone knows they can stop, they don’t need to.

The more they work with me, they allow themselves a greater spectrum of tolerance.

The more aware we become of our inner landscape, the more choice we have in doing things different in our external world.

Awareness

Observation over analysis

Most of us meet a sensation by trying to explain it. Where did this come from? What’s wrong with me?

I’d rather you notice it. What it feels like, whether it moves, whether it changes as you pay attention. There’s plenty of time to analyze afterward, though you may not need to once you give yourself permission to simply observe.

Nothing to fix

Your body has its reasons

Chronic holding, guarding, the places that won’t release: these are things your body learned to do for a reason. I work with what’s already intelligent in you, and help you notice it.

No fixed sequence

I follow the body

Someone comes in for lower back pain, and I may end up working the hips or the shoulders, because that’s where the back was pointing. The session is shaped by what I find that day.

Working together

This takes time

One session can do something real. The work that lasts tends to come from a relationship, where I know your body and we share a language for what’s showing up.

It isn’t a quick fix. I work best with people who want to do something, not have something done to them.
